Good food, and it's nice if you're alone. You have very minimal interaction with other people if you sit at the partition counter.
Nice food nice service
Even though it's a chain theire tonkotsu ramen is excellent. The waiting line extends often to the stairs up to street level but the waiting time is never exceedingly long. It's quick and good - but don't be surprised if you don't know the concept ... but the seating is one person per single person counter segment ... so here it's always only you and the soup ;-)
Perfect for introverts; not group-friendly. Upon arrival, you make your individual selections from a machine. English is available throughout the small restaurant. Take the meal ticket(s) to an empty seat and fill out the form for additional toppings (the recommended options are indicated). Press the red button at the head of your booth and someone will come and collect your ticket(s) and selection sheet. Shortly after, your meal will arrive. You leave feeling pretty good you spent under ¥900 for a delicious bowl of ramen and not having had to physically or verbally interact with another human being!
I say it’s overrated. Cons :Noodle was thin Pork wasn’t tasty You have to peel an egg yourselfIf you are alone ok but if you are w someone sitting in a booth is annoying Higher price than other local ramen shops Pro Broth was tasty I would not recommend it at all.
Good taste but not as good as the one I ate in the main Ichiran in Fukuoka. The taste is more authentic over there.
If you need a proper ramen experience, go here.
Amazing food, and great concept. Easy ordering, get the set meal. Good portion sizes and a convenient way to order extras if needed
I stayed at a capsule hotel nearby and when I woke up at 3 am from jet lag, I was delighted to see that this Ichiran was still open! Obviously, I had to go and get some delicious Ichiran for breakfast. The ordering system is quick and easy (especially for tourists) and the ramen is always consistently good. The location is very easy to spot too!
Excellent food as always. Recommend getting the slices of pork. It literally just melts in your mouth.
BOMB ASSSFFFF RAMEN. BEST RAMEN IN JAPAN
Excellent rich broth and very good noodle texture. Chashu is good but probably not the best. A solid bowl of ramen overall. Functional seating arrangements in small booths and typically long wait times.
Great ramen place. Everything is in English as well. Awesome flavor with great service. Tripped the strong dashi with medium richness. Don't forget to add an egg!
Great first experience with Ichiran and Ramen in general. The noodles were amazing, the price was great and the service was top notch. I couldn’t have asked for better!
Not my first experience but truly a MUST have whenever I can find them. Soul-food, simple noodle dish satisfy the soul.Mind you, I had this at 1:20am..
Very good ramen. You must be willing to line up atleast 30mins
I needed a quick bite and this one had me full until the next day.
Wow, the ramen was amazing. Love the individual booth and vending machine ordering. Just sit in your booth and wait for your meal to be delivered from behind a small curtain. The family loved it. There was a queue when we arrived but it is well worth the wait.
Foreigner-friendly. The location is in a basement under a narrow stairwell, but the food and service are worth it. It’s just a few steps outside of Shimbashi station. The vending ticket machine has clear instructions in both Japanese and English. It’s a tight squeeze in there, but my husband and I are on the larger side, and we still had no problem finding a comfortable seat. The broth was velvety and rich. I do, however, wish I would’ve tried a higher spice level. Medium spice was still a little weak for my tastes, and I’m not even a huge fan of hot foods. Regardless though, it was great food and a satisfying experience. We went around 3pm, and there was no wait.
Crowded space, tiny cubicle, big chance to wait in line for a seat - but this is Tokyo. Noodle is slightly chewy, softness can be selected. Tonkotsu soup is thick and tasty. A little surprise is its dry chili pepper powder is really spicy.
This place is awesome ... pick your noodles at the vending then decided whether you want them soft or firm.. enjoy
First meal when I arrived in Tokyo Place was quite easy to find You will see a queue down the narrow staircase Restaurant only accepts cash! Ramen was good. I love it.
At Ichiran Shimbashi, you just pay at a vending machine, press the buttons you want, gather your food tickets and change, find a seat at the vacant spots. When you sit down, someone pulls up a blind, takes your tickets and delivers your food! If you find yourself needing more noodles (“kaedamaâ€) or other toppings, there’s a piece of paper to fill out and you press a BUTTON to order more! Cash only, super yummy and somewhat creamy ramen!?
It's a chain ramen restaurant but it's definitely awesome. It's always crowded so get there early. There's no "group" seating as every seat is individual. Great thing about that is the turnover is fast so the line keeps chugging along. They do have an english menu you fill out with a pencil. Then you can pay at the vending machine. Once you sit down you have one opportunity to order additional items like extra noodle. The taste is great. Definitely recommend trying it at least once.
Solo booth. Amazing ramen, highly customisable. Very reasonable prices
Best ramen in japan!!! Super fast and efficient service. Order on machine and give ticket to staff with chosen options. Soup is rich and noodles good texture. Must try!!!! Ate ichiran 2-3x in week in japan! Chain, all are good.
I ordered level 10 and while it was spicy, the taste is just so so. Perhaps I chose the wrong level of spiciness as Japanese ramen taste is not supposed to be that spicy. Expect long waiting time, we wait 90 minutes to be served, but I guess it was due to New year holiday.
Good stable taste in every branch. Single sitters in this place.
Masa san is one of the most creative sushi chef. His creations travels Asia.
Love this tonkotsu ramen. Made from pork bones and the richness, spiciness, noodle firmness, etc. Are all easily adjustable to your liking. You pay at the front via vending machine. Everything is also available in English so no problems with ordering should occur. Also it is underground so be on the lookout for a red banner next to a staircase leading down.
Convenient + super tasty ramen. Queue got long even at 6pm though.
Great spot. Was a little hard to spot at first however I can not read the signs. It's down some stairs. The ordering machine is easy to use. Limited seating. Small booths so can focus on the flavor like the restaurant encourages. Would def go back for more
Great food and service. Had a friendly member of staff, who spoke really good English, help me hold my place while I grabbed more money for more noodles
Excellent ramen and easy to navigate experience with very helpful staff. Ordering and payment is done from a machine at the front. Once a seat opens up, you are taken back to a small cubicle where you complete your order on a small card indicating things like garlic and spice levels. Ramen and extras are then delivered to you through the opening at the front of the cubicle.
The taste of the broth is tasty as always (been quite a fan since 10 years ago).I prefer the thick broth, strong taste, and spicy one. (But the price has been increasing around 200-300 yen since back then)This Shinbashi branch is a good spot on weekends since it’s not crowded but still some line. But the capacity of the restaurant is not big. In this branch, the partition between stall cannot be opened. When I want to eat ramen but without knowing specific restaurant to eat, Ichiran is a good choice.
I was there between 3-4pm waited about 20 minutes but it was worth the wait. They have English menus as well as some English speaking staff. Makes sure to read the easy to follow instructions on how-to. 1490 yen for great tasting ramen. Bring cash
Good place to grab some ramen. There's a machine that you put your order in and get your tickets from right inside the door, look for open seats using the light board, and choose your options on a provided paper at the table. The ramen comes out after a few minutes and you enjoy. There's cups for water at your leisure. Extra items can be ordered using sheets on the right of the booth, such as rice or a noodle refill, as well as a tea "for health and beauty".The ramen itself can be as good as you choose, honestly, given that they're giving you options for how you want it, but with recommended options can be pretty delicious if you like a rich broth. This place is somewhat out of the way in Shimbashi, down a flight of stairs on the first basement floor. Use Google maps if you need help finding it.
Absolutely love the Tonkotsu ramen here! This shop is the closest to Tokyo Station (2 stops, 5 min away) and is right across the street from Shinbashi station. It seats 18. The queue starts from the bottom of a couple flights of stairs, before spilling out onto the street - if you see a street queue, probably best to come back another time as you'll be in for a mega long wait. It's also possible to call them and ask how long the queue currently is! No reservations.I recommend the full garlic option with firm hardness, extra richness, and 1/2 chilli :)
Very good and tasty ramen & Ichiran allows you to customise your ramen too.Staff members spoke some english and it really went a long way.
Central location and easy to get to using the subway. Good food options and great taste. Reasonable pricing. The staff speak English too so it's easy to visit on your travels if you don't know any Japanese.
Great ramen, great price, good/fast service unique food / dinning experience with private booths
Fantastic mid-night stop for a hot bowl of customizable ramen.
Very well-known ramen shop for foreigners. But the taste was unexpectedly awesome and really yummy. Highly recommend for those who wanna try good ramen in Japan. Also the atmosphere was quite unique. There are only 1-person seats completely seperating with others to enjoy your own privacy. Also there is a curtain in front of your seat, and you can not see the waiter/waitress face. They will fall down the curtain when the dish comes to your table. So you defintely can enjoy your meal with full privacy!
